You know how One Stop Motors promises to put you at the top of the Yahoo Search Results via SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)? Well actually that is a blatant lie. Paying for clicks on Yahoo Search Marketing is not SEO. In any case they still do a terrible job at this as we shall see from the samples taken below at 11:39PM June 29, 2008:
First I go to the One Stop Motors Website at OneStopMotors.com. I click on the “USED CARS” link. I just click the “Search” button to see what comes up. I get a bunch of car listings coming up without any images. real nice. Anyway the first one at the top of the list is:
1975 Mercedes Benz SL 450 $11599 FL
So now lets go to http://search.yahoo.com/ and see if we can find this car in the listings there…
Search term: “1975 Mercedes Benz” NO!
Search term: “Mercedes Benz SL 450″ NO!
Search term: “1975 Mercedes Benz SL 450″ NO!
OK. I give up. I wonder what the actual search string that is needed to find this vehicle in the #1, 2, or 3rd position in Yahoo?
Try yourself. Pick any car or truck listed anywhere on their site and try and find it listed in Yahoo.
